Flower Alphabet Sensory Bin
"Find-the-letter" and sensory bin fun, using this Mrs. Peanuckle's Flower Alphabet book to create 2 activities in 1!
This activity was so engaging! The littles were naturally drawn to the bold & bright illustrations in this book, and couldn't wait to get started finding & match the letters to their flowers.
The letters were hidden in a bin full of rainbow water beads; we LOVE our water beads, and the littles just love sticking their hands in them, so finding the letters with their hands was a huge hit.
Small jars & faux florals paired with various scooping utensils was the perfect invitation to create some of their own floral arrangements.
In This Activity
Science — Talk about the different flower types & differences & colours, how they grow, etc.
Fine Motor Work GALORE! — scooping, pouring, transferring, and manipulating the flowers - are all great for those little hands & muscles.
Sensory — Finding letter pieces in water beads.
Imaginative Play — our littles pretended they were florists!
Numeracy — count the letters, scoops, waters beads, & flowers!
Happy playing!
