"Lemon Cakes" Play Dough Tinker Tray

If your littles are anything like ours, they're always asking to bake. I am not a baker, and don't particularly love baking, either. So this has been our happy medium! The littles feels like they're baking, and I don't have to. (LOL)

Using our Lemon Dough made the week before, I simply added a few items to our sectioned serving tray to allow the kids to create as they please!

Materials:

  • sectioned serving tray

  • mini pie tins

  • dough rollers (I bought ours here!)

  • birthday candles

  • Bananagram letters (to spell lemon & cakes)

  • craft sprinkles

  • play lemon slices

  • homemade Lemon Dough (see my post for recipe!)

In This Activity

  • Spark Conversation — chat about the different ingredients often used in baking. What are some of your favourite treats?

  • Fine Motor Work & Concentration — manipulating these small pieces are great for those little hands & muscles, as well as rolling the dough.

  • Sensory — this dough smells like fresh lemons, so it natural awakens the senses! Feel the difference in texture when the sprinkles are added.

Happy "baking"!
