This bonus room turned playroom is an extension of the rest of the family home.
This playroom not only functions as a play space, but also second living room & guest sleeping quarters. In keeping with the home's existing aesthetic, we opted for a more neutral palette; black and white with warm woods, natural elements & plants.
Limiting brightly coloured plastic toys and opting for more natural objects and woven baskets for storage keeps with the environmentally mindful nature of this home. Eclectic pieces from travels are thoughtfully placed throughout. Complete with kids kitchen & role play area.

This project is true testament to what Planted Creative is all about — out-of-the-box thinking to create a multi-functional, family-friendly space. Starting from the studs, this complete renovation by husband & wife team is the epitome of creating a spot that completely suits the function of everyone who uses it. The end result is a warm & inviting, plant-filled, inspirational space for both work and play.
A well-executed, thoughtful floor plan creates three separate functional spaces. Proslat walls give the illusion of trendy shiplap with the added benefit of a more heavy-duty use and hook system for exercise equipment & office items. Click tile flooring in the gym space, area rugs for both office and chill spot with sectional create a cozy feel in each area. Repurposed & refurbished cabinetry & office desk kept from house renovation provides ample storage for kids activities and business materials. TV on swivel-mount installed for game days and cartoons. 6-foot mirror in gym complete with DIY wood frame.
Clearance rack paint, up-cycled furniture, and plenty of vintage and thrifted furniture & decor items keep with the environmentally-conscious nature of this family & their home.
